Christening is a once in a life time special event for your baby. A little forward planning will ensure the special day goes smoothly, without stress and avoid the last minute rush.

Make an appointment with vicar
Find out about what the church requires (shawls, colour: white/ivory, bonnet)
Choose and approach godparents
Book the date with church and godparents
Plan out the event: what time to arrive, start, what next, finish time, etc...
6 - 8 weeks before
Book entertainers, photographers and caterers
Create guest list
Search for babies christening outfit
Search for all outfits for husband/wife/sibling
Search for gifts for godparents
4 - 6 weeks before
Buy the babies christening outfit (and try it on)
Buy all outfits for husband/wife/sibling
Buy gifts for godparents
Post invitation to guest with RSVP, map
2 - 4 weeks before
Finalise food and drinks menu with caterers
Confirm arrangement with church, godparents, photographers, and caterers
Get accessories such as shoes, socks, bibs, clothes to change into after
1 - 2 weeks before
Finalise all outfits
Design seating plan
Ask a friend to take photographs on the day also
Ask for extra help on the day if needed
1 week before
Check that enough plates, glasses, cutlery are available
Check cameras and batteries
Check transport (or your cars)
Buy flowers and balloons
Check you have correct documents
Prepare a donation for the church
